| Public Works Improving Renowned for its rich historical and cultural background,
Throughout the past two decades, CEC has played a major role in enhancing the infrastructure “backbone” for cities, counties, and other municipal entities in the region. From planning a multi-modal transportation system connecting five Spanish Colonial Missions to revamping outdated urban utilities to meet modern-day needs to designing recycled water distribution systems, our overall approach is the same. We seek to support growth and expansion while carefully preserving natural resources for future generations, protecting people and facilities against natural disasters, and exercising good stewardship of public funds. Supported by our Transportation and Surveying Divisions, CEC’s Public Works Division provides full capabilities in all types of projects required by municipalities, including: ◘ Roadways ◘ Airports ◘ Drainage/Flood Control ◘ Water Systems ◘ Sanitary Sewer Systems ◘ Gas Lines The multi-disciplined nature of municipal work requires teamwork. CEC is equally competent serving as prime engineer or subconsultant. We have capably coordinated projects with the multitude of entities with jurisdiction and review authority over infrastructure projects area cities plus VIA Metropolitan Transit, Bexar County, San Antonio Water System (SAWS) and San Antonio River Authority (SARA); the State’s Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), Texas Historical Commission (THC), Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT); and federal agencies such as Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). Citizen involvement is another important area in which CEC excels whether producing factual materials clearly describing the expenditure of public funds or facilitating public meetings to get input on the project features most desired by citizens, our goal is creating consensus and building trust. |
